A few years ago, Jay-Z teamed up with Barneys to launch a new cologne, GOLD. Well, now it looks like Jay-Z is being sued by the company who made the cologne for a decline in sales.
Perfumania Holdings Inc. claims the cologne was the #1 selling perfume in 2014, but sales declined in 2015 due to Jay-Z not promoting the fragrance. They say he failed to make several promotional appearances and failed to communicate with them. The company estimated sales for 2015 at $35 million and only brought in $6 million. They are now suing Jay-Z for $18 million, $2 million of which he has already received.
